The ANN UK Education Committee plays a central role in advancing the mission of ANN UK by leading, supporting, and strengthening education and training opportunities for nurses working across kidney care.

Through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to high-quality learning, the committee ensures nurses have access to the knowledge and development opportunities needed to deliver outstanding patient care.

The committee is chaired by Professor Helen Hurst, a founding member of ANN UK and a champion for nephrology nursing education.


🎯 Purpose of the Committee

The Education Committee is dedicated to empowering renal nurses and supporting career development across all levels of practice. Its purpose is to:

  • 🎓 Promote and nurture professional development for nurses within the kidney care community

  • 📘 Lead and support educational initiatives that enhance knowledge, skills, and confidence in practice

  • 🤝 Collaborate with partner organisations and professional bodies to deliver high-quality education and training programmes


👥 Aims and Objectives

The ANN UK Education Committee works to:

  • 🧭 Deliver programmes of work as directed by ANN UK members and the Executive Committee

  • 🤝 Develop education partnerships with relevant organisations to ensure high-quality, relevant training for the renal nursing workforce

  • 📚 Support learning across all roles and levels in kidney care nursing

  • 🌱 Promote lifelong learning and professional development within nephrology nursing
