Christine Budd works as a Renal Advanced Clinical Practitioner in The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the South West of England.
She qualified as a nurse in 2012 following a career in retail and banking. Working in many roles with in the renal specialty and qualified as a non-medical prescriber in 2019. Christine has acted as a mentor for countless nursing and medical students and a designated prescribing supervisor (DPS) for 5 staff members undertaking the NMP course.
She completed a MSC in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2022, with additional modules in 2024.
Andrea Dyer is an Advanced Clinical Practioner of Nephrology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
She qualified as a nurse in 1987 and has had a varied clinical career within the secondary care setting. She spent 15 years within Critical Care before diversifying into a Trust wide Specialist post for Tissue Viability. Andrea left this role 9 years ago to take up her position in Nephrology, where she completed her Advanced Practice Masters qualification.
Since then, she has developed services within our local Nephrology department and now co-ordinates a team of Advanced Practitioners and trainees.
Her focus area is providing planned and unplanned care for her dialysis dependant patients, including the provision of vascular access.
Marie McCarthy is Lead ANP for the Renal Acute Care Team at Royal Liverpool Hospital and works across site at Aintree University Hospital with AKI support.
The team review AKI Stage 2 and 3 and lead in staff education and awareness of AKI across the trust. The team also run a 4 day a week renal ambulatory clinic facilitating early renal discharge and preventing admissions. Additionally, they lead a Renal Assessment Unit – a day-case unit to prevent acute renal admissions to ED where possible and prevent renal admissions where possible. She has 26 years’ experience in renal nursing.
