Allie Spittle
Allie is a Practice Development Nurse at Diaverum UK. She began her career in dialysis in 2012 by chance and joined Diaverum in 2014, completing an advanced renal nursing degree at Sheffield University. In 2022, she became a Practice Development Nurse, working with Clinical Leads and the Nursing Director.
Allie developed a student nurse program to provide hands-on dialysis experience and presented this work at the EDNTA conference in Lithuania. She supports a network of link nurses focusing on renal care aspects like shared care and vascular access. Recently, she organized and facilitated in a national IPC week across Diaverum Clinics, emphasizing the importance of infection prevention and control in dialysis units.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading murder mysteries, watching F1, and trying new restaurants.
Julie Sproson
Julie has over 29 years’ experience in renal nursing and has a background in acute and chronic haemodialysis. She recently became the Lead Nurse for dialysis and renal services in Wolverhampton and is responsible for supporting quality and service improvement in Haemodialysis, Home Therapies, Advanced Kidney Care and Transplantation.
She has a particular interest in palliative care including symptom management, dialysis withdrawal and conservative care, and is passionate about providing professional development opportunities with the aim of improving the clinical care and experience of patients.
She is also a member of the UK Kidney Association special interest group for HD.
