Nicola Anderson
Nicola is a Senior Renal Research Nurse, working in the field of clinical research since 2003, in both clinical and teaching roles at Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. She has broad experience of study management including coordination of multi-centre CTIMP and device studies. She completed an MSc in Healthcare Law and Ethics in 2008 (University of Birmingham) and is currently undertaking postgraduate study at the Centre for Patient Reported Outcomes Research (CPROR), University of Birmingham, exploring the use and implementation of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in the management of patients with end stage renal disease requiring treatment with haemodialysis.

Dr Katie Fielding
Catherine has worked as a haemodialysis nurse for 21 years at Derby hospitals. In 2019 she moved away from haemodialysis, becoming a trainee AdvancedClinical Practitioner (ACP). She now works for Nottingham University Hospitals in a dual role as lead ACP for research and innovation, and clinically as an ACP in Healthcare of Older People.
Catherine has always had an interest in improving nursing care for people on haemodialysis. She has interests in improving vascular access for haemodialysis including cannulation, fluid status, patient safety and acute kidney injury. Projects of note include leading the first set of national cannulation recommendations, co-leading the latest update for the UK Kidney Association’s Vascular Access guideline and leading the Managing Access by Generating Improvements in Cannulation (MAGIC) project. In 2017, Catherine received the UK renal registry’s MDT fellowship, which started her career into research. In 2024, she completed her PhD on ‘Understanding Patients’ Experiences ofCannulation for Haemodialysis’. She has collaborated on various research projects related to vascular access and cannulation, fluid assessment in both haemodialysis and health care of older people, and research in both ACP and nursing roles.
Dr Jessica Baillie
Jessica is a Senior Lecturer (Adult Nursing) at Cardiff University and her research has focused primarily on peritoneal dialysis. She is the Associate Editor for the Journal of Renal Care.
